Yummies, yum-yum, noo-noos, moo-moos...
The point of the "code word" is so I'm not in the middle of the supermarket next year with a child hanging on me saying, "boobies!" or "I want to nurse NOW!" or some other obvious thing... (Not that I mind people knowing what the kid is asking for, but I've been in situations where other people would have been really uncomfortable if they had known what Maya was asking for...)
Ideas?
Maya likes, "nummies."

Well we use bickies, which sounds so close to binky that when my little one yells it out, no one blinks. They just assume she is asking for a pacifier.
we started off calling it "nursie", which evolved on his part to "see see"...
Regan called it "nuk." Which happens to be the name of a pacifier brand. Hadn't really thought of that at the time.
Oh, I wish everyone who responded had done so on here so they'd be public. A great response, folks! Outpouring of fabulous names to use... My favorite at the moment? "Bon bons." :-)

Sage calls it "Monkey Mommy." I did not teach her that! But we used to nurse in the middle of the living room floor on a blanket with monkeys on it and that was the time when she decided to name it. So that's what it still is, and she's now 3 1/2!
Is it possible to decide for them? Maybe. But I bet your little one will devise his or her own name for it despite your best efforts!
Have fun with it--you must be so excited to have the chance to nurse another child.

My kids have always called it nummies. Works for us but I really think anything would do.
I say let it evolve. Eli calls it nursie. I just ask Zuzu if she wants to nurse, because, honestly, I feel a little crazy asking her if she wants Mooblymilk or anysuch thing like that.
